Happy WIAW!
We’ve had friends visiting since December 27, which is awesome although also exhausting because we’ve also been working our regular schedules. Here are a few things we’ve eaten this past week. Of course, I’ve been drinking my morning coffee with almond milk (here in my adorable new hand-painted mug I got from work for Christmas).
We’ve joked that we’ve only been eating either really healthy or really unhealthy meals. Here’s a healthy breakfast: acai bowl! With granola, berries, banana and honey.
Here’s one of our unhealthy (but so satisfying) breakfasts: loco moco with fried rice!
An unhealthy lunch: plate lunch at Keneke’s. I had the mini teriyaki chicken plate with rice and mac salad.
Luckily, with all this eating, we’ve also been very active. I taught 8 yoga classes in one week (had to sub a lot for people on vacation). We’ve also gone to a yoga class and a yoga sculpt at Core Power and hiked a lot!
One night we had a potluck dinner at Chelsea’s house. One person brought the salad, I brought the pasta, someone else brought the sauce and cheese.
Another night, our friend Emma who was visiting from NYC made us a delicious enchilada bake with cheese, turkey and Portuguese sausage. We ate it with avocados and tortilla chips.
Another night we had everyone over for dinner and made salad with produce from our Ma’o Farm box, along with baked chicken and cheese quesadillas.
Since we have friends in town, we’ve gone out a bit more than usual. One night we went to the University of Hawaii basketball game, which was really fun. They serve beers that are so big you can just nurse one all night!
We also hit up happy hour in Waikiki, to get the classic cheesy Hawaiian cocktails. So happy all our friends got to come visit! :)
Of course, can’t forget dessert: last night we ended the night with wine and Ben & Jerry’s “everything but the…” ice cream. Yum!
