It’s hard to believe that April is almost over (where does the time go?!) but another week has passed and it’s time again for Sunday Brunch. I’ve written about Yogur Story before but here’s the most recent brunch I had there with my Dad. I’d never had their waffles so I decided to split an order with my dad. Since I like to have some sweet and savory balance when brunching, the two of us split the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and an order of the Dolce de Leche waffles.
The toppings are what makes the waffles so interesting (we got ours on the side since my dad thought it sounded too sweet and overwhelming). This particular waffle came with pecan pretzel crunch, caramelized banana, caramel sauce, maple syrup, dolce de leche sauce and whipped cream. Now you can see why I also needed to be able to have a few savory bites of sandwich. These little ramekins of sauce were actually not too big and even though each sauce was very sweet, they all worked well together and made the waffle a real treat. The salty pecan pretzel crunch helped balance out the sugar and the caramelized banana was delicious.
We also ordered coffee: I had the macadamia but latte (I’m not exactly sure how they managed to incorporate nuts into the coffee, or if they actually used real nuts, but it was delicious) and my dad had a cappuccino.
The breakfast sandwich, which I’d had before, was simple and tasty. This brunch at Yogur Story was really fun, and always!
