The Local Saratoga Poutine Fries

For Maggie’s birthday this year, we all visited her in Saratoga Springs, where we all graduated college recently. I’ve already written about brunch at The Local, but since we had another yummy brunch there I thought it deserved another post. Foolishly thinking I could eat the whole thing, I ordered the “eye opener,” a huge plate of poutine. For those of you who are unfamiliar, poutine is a delicious pile of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. This version was topped with gravy, fried eggs, shredded and sliced cheese, sour cream and chives. While I missed the curds and thought it could have used more gravy, I loved this dish. Topping poutine with fried eggs and calling it breakfast is genius. I did manage to finish the entire plate (with hep from all my friends) but I was absolutely stuffed for hours afterwards.

The Local Saratoga Spicy Bloody Mary

We all ordered Bloody Mary’s; Chelsea and I ordered the spicy version, which included jalapeños and sriracha, and it was a mistake! They were so incredibly spicy we could barely drink them; and that’s coming from me, the person who carries Tabasco around in her purse! Chelsea even tried adding ketchup to hers to sweeten it up, but it didn’t really work. When you go, definitely just order the regular version, which is still spicy!
